It’s been a while since I’ve written an article for Faith, Truth and Wisdom. But I’m happy to say I am back on track!
I want to discuss a topic that affects Christians daily. A topic that won’t go away. The topic I would like to talk about is how the world changes Christians and how we need to guard our heart so we stay pure and are not ruled by the flesh.
I’ve noticed talking to other Christians and reading the news that the end times are closer than they have ever been. There are natural disasters taking place all over the world. Lawlessness has increased in a big way. Wars and famines are accelerating. And unfortunately, Christians are compromising what they believe in. All these things have been predicted in the Word of God.
(Matthew 7:13) Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
We are living in a world where even Christians are being deceived. As a Christian myself, to avoid the trap of the enemy and to be closer to the Holy Spirit, I have made some changes in my life. A couple of those changes I have made are, I no longer listen to secular music and I do not have a Facebook account. It amazes me, how hard it is at first to make Godly changes in your life. The narrow road is not an easy walk. But to ensure you stay pure and holy and your salvation is intact, changes are necessary. The flesh will fight you to not make those changes.
(2 Corinthians 4:4) The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Satan and his demons are roaming the world looking for someone to devour and destroy. (John 10:10) He is cunning and smart. And as 2 Cor. 4:4 points out, Satan has blinded the mind of unbelievers to a point where more and more people are becoming atheists. Unfortunately, when their day comes and they leave this earth, they will greatly regret their atheism, because our Lord Jesus Christ is alive and well.
We just need to look at how Witchcraft has taken off in leaps and bounds. Witchcraft is now a recognised religion. I was working in a job where one of the staff wanted to burn sage to cleanse the office and purify the air. Burning sage is called smudging and it is a Witchcraft ritual. Witchcraft is a part of the world and it is now accepted by the world. This is why we must guard our hearts and be very careful of what we allow in our lives.
(John 14:21) Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.
We are living in a Godless age where we need to lean into God and His Son more than ever. As Christians, we must obey our heavenly Father’s commands. If we do not, we will become like the world where the flesh rules and this will greatly affect our salvation.
Read the Word, Pray and obey His commands. Stay on the straight and narrow road. It takes sacrifice, but it’s worth it if you become closer to Jesus Christ.
